The general public is hereby being informed that applications for students into the Advanced-level of educations from prospective students for the year 2018are being received. You are also being informed that the school fee for the Advanced levels of education (A-Level) is, M15000. 00. This is in line with the Soofia board of founder’s commitment of providing quality education to the Basotho children at an affordable cost. Soofia is affiliated to the Cambridge University International Schools and offers the Cambridge Advanced Levels of education – Advanced subsidiary; AS-Level and the full Advanced; A-Level The AS- Level is an equivalent qualification to the South African Metric. It is a one year course. Classes commence in February with final examinations taken in October/November. This allows admissions into universities early the following year. The minimum requirements into the AS-level are;

  1. Successful completion of the COSC/LGCSE/IGCSE/O-Level or its equivalent.
  2. A pass with a minimum of a C –Grade or aggregate 3 in English Language.
  3. 3 other passes with a minimum of a C –Grade or aggregate 3 in three other subjects leading to the University entry programme in line with the student’s intended career path and profession.

The minimum requirements into the A-Levels are;

  1. Successful completion of the COSC/LGCSE/IGCSE/O-Level or its equivalent.
  2. A pass with a minimum of a C –Grade or aggregate 3 in English Language.
  3. 3 other passes with a minimum of a C –Grade or aggregate 3 in three other subjects leading to the University entry programme in line with the student’s intended career path and profession.

Or;

  1. Successful completion of the Advanced Subsidiary, AS-Level

Note:

  1. Students who have successfully completed the COSC/LGCSE/IGCSE/O-Level or its equivalent, take 2 years doing A-Level
  2. Students who have completed AS-Level, take one year.
  3. Students who have not passed the AS-Level successfully may proceed to the A-Level but, will be required to retake some of the papers in which they did not do well at the AS-Level along with the A-level papers in the same seating.
  4. Students with degree qualifications intending to do AS/A-Level English as a requirement to further their studies are also welcome.

Successful completion of the A-Level provides an easy route for admissions of students into the university programmes across the entire globe/world without the need to undergo bridging programmes. Selections and admissions will be done as soon as the IGCSE and the LGCSE results for the academic year 2016 have been released. Admissions are based on first come first serve basis and few vacancies are available. The academic year at Soofia for the A-Levels 2017 will commence on 15TH Feb 2017.
