As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Soofia International School hosted a meaningful and reflective session for our AS and A-Level boys, led by members of the school’s male teaching staff.
The session provided a safe and supportive environment where learners could engage in open conversations about the experiences, pressures, and challenges that young men may face as they navigate adolescence, academic life, relationships, and their personal development.
Discussions explored a range of important topics, including healthy coping strategies, the influence of social media on self-esteem, leadership and personal growth, masculinity and identity, academic pressure, and the fear of failure.

Through honest dialogue and reflection, learners were encouraged to recognise that emotional well-being is an important part of personal development. The session challenged the idea that strength means remaining silent and highlighted the value of expressing emotions, seeking guidance, supporting others, and asking for help when it is needed.
Having male teachers lead the conversation also provided learners with an opportunity to connect with positive role models within their own school community. The discussions encouraged students to reflect on the kind of young men they want to become and the values they wish to carry into adulthood.

The session forms part of Soofia International School’s broader commitment to supporting the holistic development of our learners. We believe that education should equip young people not only with academic knowledge, but also with the resilience, self-awareness, confidence, and values needed to navigate life successfully.
We are proud to nurture young men who understand that true strength is found in emotional awareness, resilience, empathy, responsible leadership, and the courage to seek support.
Strong minds. Strong values. Strong future leaders. 💙🧠
