Friday the 4th May 2018 will remain a memorable day to grade 10 and grade 11 students of the Botha-Bothe Community. University of Pretoria paid Soofia International School a second visit following a career guidance and mentorship given to the Advance Subsidiary and Advanced Level students a week ago.
The purpose of the second visit by UP was to give career guidance and motivation to the grade 10 and grade 11 (Form D and Forms E) students of Soofia International School. Soofia did not only see this mentorship program as an advantage for their students only, hence why they invited other schools around Botha-Bothe being St Paul High School, Likila High School, Khukhune High Shchool and Lepekola High School.
University of Pretoria though it programme named Junior Tukkie which provides assistance to learners in grade 10, 11 and 12 provided the students with first hand information on study and career options, development of leadership qualities, study skills, encouragement to volunteer and be engaged in community projects.
At the end of the session, the students admired themselves as personal brands. By being personal brands they aspire to be memorable, be of value to themselves and people around them. They are highly motivated and we are optimistic that these sessions are of benefit to all the students who attended.
