Soofia International School continues to strengthen its commitment to preparing learners for successful futures beyond the classroom through meaningful university engagement opportunities.
Our AS and A-Level students recently welcomed a representative from the University of the Free State (UFS) for an informative and engaging university guidance session. The visit provided learners with valuable insights into the university experience and the opportunities available to students pursuing higher education in South Africa.
During the session, students were introduced to a range of academic programmes, admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, campus life, and career pathways available at the University of the Free State. The presentation encouraged learners to begin thinking strategically about their subject choices, future studies, and long-term career aspirations.
The interactive nature of the session also allowed students to ask questions and engage directly with the university representative, giving them a clearer understanding of what to expect when transitioning from secondary school to university.

Connecting Our Learners to Higher Education
The University of the Free State visit forms part of Soofia International School’s growing programme of university and career engagement initiatives. Throughout the year, our students have had the opportunity to interact with representatives from leading higher education institutions, including the University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, and Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT).
These engagements play an important role in helping our learners explore different academic pathways, understand university entry requirements, discover scholarship opportunities, and make informed decisions about their futures.

At Soofia International School, we believe that preparing learners for university and beyond involves more than academic achievement. It is about exposing them to opportunities, encouraging ambition, developing informed decision-making, and helping each learner envision a successful future.
We sincerely thank the University of the Free State for visiting Soofia International School and taking the time to engage with our learners. We look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships with universities and other institutions that contribute to the growth and future success of our students.
